Classic Collection
These hauntingly captivating portraits have the ability to elicit a range of emotions. Both facial expressions and body language exude beauty yet are simultaneously thought provoking suggesting as many layers of character as there are layers of oils and acrylics. Colours which effortlessly blend, in semi muted fashion, are enhanced by an occasional bright tone which lifts the subject, injecting a note of positivity if not rebelliousness.
Original Lipshams were housed in Victorian scalloped mirror frames, painted white. However, Lipsham and Beumée collaborated to add another dimension to his work by incorporating bespoke, handmade frames. which extended, and became an integral part of, each subject matter. The latter frames’ original design, materials and colours were purposefully created in order to further connect, extend and enhance the artwork each presents. The Classic Collection are framed in bespoke black beveled frames that have an inner inlay of distressed 24 carat gold over terracotta.
